Historical Details
| Built as a Leading Light, this Lighthouse replaced the Arthur Head Lighthouse, and provided shipping a safe route via Gage Roads into the newly constructed Fremantle Harbour designed by C.Y. O'Connor. |

The two windows which directed
the light can be easily seen.
Thus whether ships were approaching from the north, south or any point between, they could easily identify their location. |
| The Lighthouse Keepers Cottages
are now fronting onto a busy road.
A dirt track winds up the hill behind the cottages. |

| As the Lighthouse is not normally open to the public, I was fortunate enough to be invited along to join the students in my role as a local lighthouse enthusiast and Committee Member of Lighthouses of Australia Inc. and took my own versions of the Woodman Point Light focussing on images of the internal fittings, features and views from the top which I had never before had the chance to see. |
