If you are on a LAN, check with your network administrator if the changes will not cause your network to stop functioning normally. You might need the Windows 95/98 installation CD to proceed with some of the instructions below.
- Error 629: Port disconnected by the remote computer
- Error 630: Port Disconnected Due to Hardware Failure
- Error 645: Internal Authentication Error
- Error 650: Server not Responding
- Error 666: Device not Ready
- Error 678: No Answer
- Error 691: Username - Password Invalid
- Error 731: Protocol Not Configured
- Error 781: The encryption attempt failed because no valid certificate was found
- Dial-Up Networking could not negotiate a compatible set of network protocols.
- Dial-Up Networking Password Option Unavailable
- Disable IPX Header Compression
- HyperText Transfer Protocol Error
- Microsoft Dial-Up Adapter is not installed
- Modem does not exist, is not plugged in, or is out of service
Computer is not receiving a response from the modem
