Checking your Mac OS X Version
Many of our Mac support articles are specific to the Operating System (OS) you currently have on your Mac. If you're not sure which version of Mac OS you have, follow the simple steps below.
Click on the "Apple" menu in the top left hand corner of your desktop menu and choose "About This Mac". This will open a new window and show you a quick rundown of information about your Mac. The part to check for is the Version - in this case 10.4.9.
